Ever heard of the term "Teleportation" ,according to the IBM site
http://www.research.ibm.com/quantuminfo/teleportation/
the term was given by science fiction writers to making an object or person disintegrate or vanish at one place and exact replica appearing in some other place. A few science fiction writers consider teleporters that preserve the original, and the plot gets complicated when the original and teleported versions of the same person meet, but the more common kind of teleporter destroys the original, functioning as a super transportation device, not as a perfect replicator of souls and bodies.
In 1993 an international group of six scientists, including IBM Fellow Charles H. Bennett, confirmed the intuitions of the majority of science fiction writers by showing that perfect teleportation is indeed possible in principle, but only if the original is destroyed.
In subsequent years, other scientists have demonstrated teleportation experimentally in a variety of systems, including single photons, coherent light fields, nuclear spins, and trapped ions.
consider a document
let us assume that you can scan the original copy without destroying it(heard about fax machines),then that information can be used to create the same particle or object someother place, suppose we have extracted every bit of information necessary or which is present in a system ,then we can simulate the particle at someother place.Let us assume human cloning is possible(might as well be possible) so by suing the information extracted from a particular person ,we can create a replica some other place. But the idea of quantum teleportation is different.supposedly we have two entangled states of objects A ans C then object A has some information about object C even though its may no longer be in entangled with C.So we operate object A with some object B then we can extract the data from A and end it to use to create replica of a A.
According to the site
There is a subtle, unscannable kind of information that, unlike any material cargo, and even unlike ordinary information, can indeed be delivered in such a backward fashion. This subtle kind of information, also called "Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) correlation" or "entanglement", has been at least partly understood since the 1930s when it was discussed in a famous paper by Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen. In the 1960s John Bell showed that a pair of entangled particles, which were once in contact but later move too far apart to interact directly, can exhibit individually random behavior that is too strongly correlated to be explained by classical statistics.
Some Extra Notes
In the quantum teleportation protocol, a classical channel is required to transfer two bits of information. Therefore, the transmitting of information is not faster than the speed of light.
Quantum non-cloning theorem still holds. The originally qubit has to be destroyed (measured) during the process. Also note that energy and matter can not be teleported in this manner, only the quantum state (i.e. quantum information) is transmitted.
Although a continuous qubit (infinite degree of freedom) is transmitted using two classical bits (four degree of freedom), this process can not be used to increase the capacity of classical channel. Holevo's theorem states that one qubit can only be used to transport at most one classical bit.
While the two bits sent through the classical channel can be intercepted by a third party, the information is totally useless without Bob's entangled copy of the qubit. Therefore, this is an absolutely secure way to transmit information, and has been suggested as an ideal way for crypt key distribution.

Ride the Snake
the biography of Jim Morrison
that the read of the month
"No One Here Gets Out Alive"
"Poetic today" aren't we so try to set my fire...........
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn’t get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Aouh, come on!
Come on, babe!
Yeah! come on!
Come on!
Woaouh! yeah!
It was the greatest night of my life.
Although I still had not found a wife
I had my friends
Right there beside me.
We were close together.
We tripped the wall, we scaled the graveyard
Ancient shapes were all around us.
The wet dew felt fresh beside the fog.
Two made love in an ancient spot
One chased a rabbit into the dark
A girl got drunk and balled the dead
And I gave empty sermons to my head.
Cemetary, cool and quiet
Hate to leave your sacred lay
Dread the milky coming of the day.
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!

Commutation
the day started with some more matrix multiplication(read robotics class &***%$$) then we had the two hour quantum computing class in which commutation of variables was the topic .We started with schrodinger's equation ,tried to solve it under the apporximation
consider the eigen equation
A|vi> = ai|vi>
ai are all distinct non degenerate
a1= a2 some ai are same
degenerate
the eigen value equation
we consider the vector in Hilbert's Space representing the state ,if we take the projection on the x axis we get the wave function.
[x,Px] = x.PX-PX.x is not equal to zero but ih
well it reminds of the fact that even though two functions may be independent and then they can't commute .if they can't commute then there is no uncertainty.

Dancing Wu Li Masters
hi again ,fellow humans welcome to 4th february 2005
the day started with a suprise quiz on neural networks (the prof is weird ,suprise quiz in the morning ##$@$$ and the questions no wonder looked like something in latin),a bit of a repreive in digital signal procesing ,then came the abstract but laconic quantum computing.
in between lots of quantum algebra Sir couldn't miss to quote Rene Descartes( the man who made coordinate geometry possible ) and add to his quote.
"meta physics are the roots, physics is the stem and the branches are all other braches of science".He asked us to read two books on qunatum physics Fritjof Capra "Tao of Physics" and "Dancing Wuli Master" by Gary Zukav(may be soon after catch 22).
He added that quantum mechanics is part between the stem and the roots. In my words its the place where saness is found by metaphysics or deeper reality, the place where meta physics meets physics that is where quantum mechanics lies.
After this we had Artificial intelligence which we have loads of,all about predicate and propositional logic.
Most of us will call it a day but not at iiita we have 3 hours tutorial on NFC neuro fuzzy computing and got 5 assignments and term project as parting gift.

Habits ,Transformations and Relatedness
welcome again to my melange of thoughts.
Today was a day unlike the days gone before. As it happens sometimes i got late into class (robotics taken by Dr.G.C.Nandi ) and we learned about transformation operators in 3D (on matrices not literally) seriously the lecture emphasized the role of transformation in robotics..though a bit trivial ,i think we will handle advanced transformations in tommorow's class.
So why did i blog ,what's the special ocassion
I had my first class in quantum computing(##$$@#$@$)
even though i haven't taken it as a subject i have decided to attend the lectures as a hobby(what the #$%@ ).Well that will put me in a category of nerds(read quantum mechanics as hobby) but i think quantum mechanics is beautiful. The way some mathematical equations which have no physical significance end up making a theory so precise and yet abstract, explains the most unconvicing of nature's action so elegantly .
Reasons for attending quantum computing lectures
ever since i remember i always like to question before i believed,i learnt about life from experience and from logic.I had many questions about life and its existence some have been answered others not.The question of the fundamental building block of life is one of the questions.I believe someplaces traditional logic fails and here we require something else,i believe quantum logic is what we require .
Moreover i think quantum mechanics recognises human behavior which no other exact science can do,the idea of a consciousness is not recognised by any other branch of exact science. Some people think of quantum mechanics as a philosphy rather than a science,i believe quantum mechanics started as philosphy and so did all branches of science.
mathematics is philosphy but cause of the exactness given to it by our future generation ,it is referred to being embodied as an art and a science.I believe every endeavour in nature first studied has to be looked as an art.Our teacher for quantum computing are prof.C M Bhandari and he in his very first lecture talked of Galileo
famous quote
"to understand nature one has to understand the language it has been written, that language is mathematics"
he talked about the bane of habit which makes a man repetitious and stagnant ,he talked about Max Muller being the greatest sanskrit scholar in the 20th century, that the idea of quantum mechanics were derived from eastern thought.Heisenberg and Schrodinger are refered to as the fathers of quantum mechanics ,Heisenberg with metric mechanics and Schrodinger with wave mechanics. He talked about the importance of a fresh mind thinking from a outsider's perspective rather than a prejudiced mind.
Then the lectured transformed from pure philosphy to a pure mathematical continum. It started from vector algebra ,the relation with algebra which we define for quantum algebra (bra and ket algebra).
The ideas of the hilbert space(infinite dimensional space).let me explain
For an ant walking on a wire ,its view can be described by one dimension, for a object on a plane its position can be described by two dimension, for us humans it position can be described by three dimension.... so by hypothesis we talk of an object which can be described in n dimensions.
look at the equation
[u'] = [a][u]
where [u'] and [u] are column vectors
and a be a transformation matrix("jamais vu") but we can define it to be an operator.
we talk of a special case where
u' = u and then the equation is special or eigen in german
Gu =E u is an example of eigen equation and E is an constant and G is an opertor.
Sir talked of importance of a trace of a matrix and proved that trace of matrix A is same as A'
for y= Ax
wonderful beginnning and what's more he gave me a book to read. Those who are interested in quantum mechanics can go through feynman lectures in physics vol 3 (can email you the copy if you don't have)
as a parting note i leave you
"though that may not be necessay we study, though it might not be necessary we feel
though marks have no relation with knowledge we get them".
thanks for this course where i get no acknowledgement ,no recognition(from the dean) and most imporant no marks
